was born Victoria Chaflin Woodhull, the first female presidential candidate in the United States.  She ran on a womens’ suffrage ticket in the 1872 election.  A most interesting woman – she didn’t break the mould.  She seems to have burned it on the fire and ground the ashes under her feet.  If you have any interest in women’s suffrage, equality and emancipation issues then she’s worth reading about.
